Lore Book

The story of the Creatyrs, told through their world. Ten chapters so far, with more on the way. Pick a frame to step inside.

Ch. 1What is a Creatyr?Creatyrs are the family of Rikkor kitbash beings, from the Rikkorchi and the Rikkorvali to kitbashes that are yet to be born. They are liminal creatures that exist at the boundary between matter and drift. Ch. 2Biological StructureCreatyrs are defined by a consistent biological framework that prioritizes lightness and stability in midair environments: hollow-boned, membrane-winged, and built for drift. Ch. 3Buoyancy & LuminescenceCreatyrs are buoyant by nature, their bodies filled with lighter-than-air sacs, a buoyancy tied to their luminescence in a symbiotic relationship between light and flight. Ch. 4Sensory SystemsCreatyrs perceive the world in ways deeply unfamiliar to terrestrial beings: an intricate web of aetheric sensitivity, pressure awareness, and vibrational resonance. Ch. 5Witnesses & GuidesAmong the most profound roles a Creatyr can assume is that of witness: present at moments of change, lending weight to events that might otherwise pass unnoticed. Ch. 6Presences & TransitionsCreatyrs exist in a state of perpetual transition, drifting between worlds and states of being; their presence at thresholds is essential, not incidental. Ch. 7Signs of RecognitionThose who have encountered a Creatyr often speak of a peculiar feeling: a sense of being recognised on a level that transcends visual identification. Ch. 8Driftcraft & SurvivalTo follow thresholds into worlds with no air, the Creatyrs built their own technology, called Driftcraft, with armour, staffs and Lifesprings for every danger. Ch. 9Fleets & ArmsCreatyrs do not seek war, but when an enemy threatens them they protect themselves with fleets, vehicles and weapons made for defence first. HistoryWhere did they come from? The question of Creatyr origins is one of the most debated topics among researchers and lore-keepers, and the real-world story behind the myth.
